Happy Be-lated Birthday to me! I celebrated my birthday last week. It was surprisingly a nice week. Also, anyone birthdays that have passed and coming up during this quarantine/pandemic period; happy birthday to you too! I know it’s extremely hard to be festive in these difficult times, but it’s important to stay positive. Of course being positive won’t be easy, but anything worth having is never easy to obtain. Remember the people who love you and have your back. Remember despite the chaos that is going on you are still alive. Remember that nothing lasts forever. Keeping these things in mind helps you to be grateful and adjust your thoughts to the brighter things in life.
We can not control and predict everything around us. However, we have the power to shift the way our minds think. It’s tough reprogramming your mind, especially after many years from thinking/viewing in a particular way. The first initial step to create this change starts with you. You will have to be the one to end the cycle and be willing to start fresh.
It goes without saying the older you are the harder it will be to make the following changes. It’s almost like that saying, “can’t train an old dog new tricks” However, I like to believe just because you’re older doesn’t mean you can’t re-calibrate your brain. You can, it will take more time, effort, and most importantly the willingness. Willingness is the key factor no matter how old you are. Willingness is what encourages growth and progress in whatever you decide to do.
So as we embark a new year into our lives, are you willing to put in work to adjust the way of thinking? Before you say yes so quickly, really sit there and contemplate on the answer. As you try to figure the answer out; watch the following video below. Hopefully it will help you to honestly decide on the answer that works well for you. Until then, this is Only Michy reminding you to adult one day at a time. Even on your birthday… lol!
